LIABILITY WAIVER (you agree to the following conditions for participation in Slow Water Retreat)
1. Understanding the Experience
I understand that the Slow Water Retreat includes activities like yoga, movement, creative projects, journaling, group discussions, and somatic or reflective practices. These activities are designed to nurture growth, connection, and self-discovery—but they may also bring up physical or emotional discomfort, or surface past experiences.
I know that retreat activities may take place outdoors, and I am prepared to engage with seasonal weather conditions (heat, rain, or sun). In the case of severe weather, the retreat will be postponed to a later date. If I cannot attend the rescheduled event, I understand I will receive a full refund of my registration fee, minus a $25 administrative fee.
2. My Well-Being
I am attending this retreat voluntarily and affirm that I am physically, emotionally, and mentally ready to participate.
I understand it is my responsibility to consult a healthcare professional if needed, and that the facilitators are here to guide the experience—not act as licensed medical or mental health providers.
3. Somatic & Emotional Work
Some sessions may include guided somatic practices, emotional processing, and Root-Cause Therapy-informed exercises. These experiences may involve:
Becoming aware of emotional patterns
Feeling sensations in the body
Emotional release or shifts in perception
I understand that:
I may experience vulnerability or intensity during these sessions
I can pause, step away, or choose not to participate at any time
I am responsible for communicating my needs and boundaries
Facilitators are not acting as licensed medical professionals
4. Responsibility & Release
I release and hold harmless the retreat hosts, property owners, facilitators, and collaborators from any claims or liabilities arising from my participation, including any emotional or physical responses I may experience.
5. Personal Belongings
I am responsible for my personal items. The retreat is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
6. Community & Conduct
I agree to participate respectfully and responsibly. Hosts reserve the right to ask participants to step away if behavior is unsafe or disruptive.
7. Photography & Media
I give permission for photography and video to be captured during the retreat. These may be used for marketing or shared digitally by the hosts and collaborators. Images will not be sold, and no compensation will be provided.
8. Integration & Aftercare
I understand that personal insights and emotional shifts may continue beyond the retreat. I take responsibility for my own integration process and will seek support if needed.
9. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
